Dieser prunkvolle Palast morscht mitten in Portugal. Alles, was in irgendeiner Form weiterer Verwendung zugeführt werden konnte, wurde bereits geplündert.

Nur dieser Raum ist übrig von einem großen Hotel in Portugal. Wo einst das Hotel stand, sind nur noch die aufgeräumten Grundmauern zu sehen, daneben wurden neue Tennisplätze errichtet. Warum ausgerechnet dieser halbe Raum stehen blieb, ist unbekannt.

Taken in the abandoned Villa Crypta in Italy. Several buildings, loosely connected and wide open. However, It's just a matter of time until some of the buildings will collapse.

Captured in an abandoned villa in Austria. Almost fully covered with ivy, there are a few fascinating views inside.

Taken in the abandoned Manicomio Di Anime in Italy, a former madhouse. From the equipment still left one can only guess how inmates were treated and what experiments were executed on them. Walking through the empty corridors and cells reminds one of a bad horror movie set in a psychatric clinic. At any time you expect some crazy doctor to walk towards you in one of the empty corridors.

These shots were taken in an abandoned holiday park in Eastern Germany. The area features several one storey buildings. Slowly rotting, they are just waiting for photographers, hiding some picturesque gems.

The atelier in the artist's castle in Italy. When I re-visited this place several years later, the whole room was collapsed.

Built in the beginning of the 17th century this castle probably is the most colorful of its kind. The Moorish ornaments were added later though. It once housed a luxury hotel. Several decades ago it then was vacated. The colorful rooms allow astonishing views, some of them captured in this album.
